Stylishly comfortable wedges

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Jan 26, 2012 12:42PM | ♕ 2 Comments

For the last year, I have been addicted to shoes - wedges in particular. I don't even know how many pairs of wedges I have bought last year. To me, shoes matter because they tell so much about a person hence why my collection is ever growing. Different shoes for different occassions. I love high heels as it looks good and quite frankly, I need a bit of height as I am quite short. However, I also like to be comfortable and wearing high heels everyday can be a bit daunting. Wedges are the best shoes that's ever been designed as it has heels and most importantly it is COMFORTABLE! I can walk in wedge heels all day without my feet hurting and it adds up cuteness to my outfit.

As I was browsing Sarenza's website, I found some great looking wedges but one particular wedge heel caught my attention - the Diva open toe wedges by No Name. It is the perfect wedge heel for every day wear in my opinion. The taupe colour is perfect for matching with different colours in an outfit as it is neutral. The lace-up design is very much on trend which reminds me so much of the JC Mary Rok wedges. The lace-up and sling back design together adds edginess to the wedges yet cute at the same time. This is definitely something that I would buy and bring with me to a holiday abroad for those days where you still want to look fashionable yet comfortable. I mean, who doesn't like to look good AND be comfortable at the same time?

Beauty UK Hollywood glam lips

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Jan 25, 2012 4:14PM | ♕ 0 Comments

For the least year or so, I've been buying a lot of lipsticks and my collection has grown so much without even realising. Every time I see lipsticks and I like it - I have to buy it. Just before Christmas, I saw this by the till and I had to get it. It was rather cheap at around £4.99 for 3 lipsticks. There were two editions but I opted for the hollywood glam lipsticks as they look a lot nicer. Though I really liked the orange lipstick in the other gift set so I might end up purchasing that one as well.

I'm not really sure if these lipsticks are part of their normal line of lip products as it doesn't have any names. For the price of 3 lipsticks - these are a lot cheaper than the individual lipsticks that they sell at £3.49.

I haven't really tried these yet but they seem sheer and more of a satin finish than matte which is good. The colours are very pigmented and bright. I would use a lip liner under it to tone it down and make it work for my skin colour as I am quite tan.

My hair care routine

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Jan 15, 2012 6:42PM | ♕ 0 Comments

You can get majority of these products from Superdrug and/or Boots.

Products mentioned:

Head & shoulders shampoo and conditioner - does a good job at making my hair feel soft and smooth especially since it's quite long.

Lee Stafford bleach blonde shampoo and conditioner - comes in handy to prevent hair from turning brassy especially since I like to dye my hair blonde.

Naked Style heat defender spray - my choice of heat protection spray as it's 97% natural and silicone free.

Lee Stafford "I hate my hair the day it's washed" spray - Just as the product name states, I really do hate my hair the day it's washed. It feels dull and fluffy even if I straighten it. By using this product, it calms my hair down as if it's a day after hair where it's easier to style and mold.

Schwarzkopf supersoft detangling spray - my HOLY GRAIL hair product! This is a life and time saviour for me as it makes it so much easier to brush my tangled hair. Before using this spray, I used to spend hours on end trying to untangle my knots and it used to hurt a lot.

Wide-tooth comb and Denman tangle tamer brush - I absolutely recommend using these type of brushes for your hair as it makes it easier to comb/brush your hair out. These brushes and the detangling spray go hand in hand.

Toni&Guy rapid response leave in conditioner - I would use this when I have been using heat on my hair a lot just to add some extra moisture to my hair.

Eden argan oil - I use this on the tips of my hair where it usually gets dry because I dye my hair a lot and also when I use heated products.

Batiste dry shampoos - I like to shower at night as it helps me sleep a lot better AND I really don't have enough time in the morning to do it so this comes in handy when I can feel like my hair is turning greasy as it removes it. Also, the dry shampoos are great for volumising the hair so I like to use it for that as well. It doesn't hold that long though so I feel like I need to carry a travel size with me at all times for touch ups.

FeelUnique Beauty box : January 2012

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Jan 14, 2012 12:00PM | ♕ 0 Comments

Dead sea spa magik salt brushings, Phyto express conditioner, Lierac extreme age-defense firming care and Lierac comfort peel, Green people make up remover & cleanser, Caudalie nourishing body lotion

I received my Feel Unique beauty box January edition yesterday. I've actually forgotten about these beauty boxes after the December edition. I have to say that I'm rather disappointed to find out what was included for this month's box. I seem to be getting a lot of salt brushings from these beauty boxes which I've not even used once! This month's beauty box mainly focuses on skincare which I'm not really fond of as I like to actually pick out my own products when it comes to my skin. I'll probably end up giving most of these away to my Mum as she may find it a lot useful than I would.

I'm still unsure as to whether I'd stay subscribed to them as of yet. I'm in two minds about it as last month's box was good. I'll probably keep my subscription for another month. As for other beauty boxes, I'm still keeping my GlossyBox subscription as I quite like that company. I'm rather excited to find out what's in my January beauty box from GlossyBox as I enjoyed the December edition. Hopefully the January edition will be just as good as last month or even better. Anyway, I'd also like to try out Jolie box (previously known as Boudoir prive) as it seems as though they've revamped the whole beauty box and are coming out with much better products.

New Years Eve Look & NOTW : 009 - Razzle Dazzle

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Jan 13, 2012 8:36PM | ♕ 4 Comments

So this was the eye make up look and nails that I wore for New years eve (bit of a late post really). I opted for this make up look as I was wearing a wine coloured skater dress and my knock-off JC litas (which I've been rocking a lot since I got it back in November). I used my BH cosmetics 26 shadow and blush palette to create my eye make up. I might do a tutorial on this soon as it would look nice for a Valentine's day look as well. For my nails, I used my Models own Red 'n' Black polish and Deborah Lippman Razzle Dazzle polish to go on top to jazz it up!

NOTW : 008 - Cuckoo for this color

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Dec 28, 2011 5:30PM | ♕ 0 Comments

This is the nail colour that I've been strutting during Christmas week til' now. I bought this recently from Sallys and it was on sale for £3.56 along with another OPI nail polish that I also bought that was a similar colour. Such a bargain for an OPI nail polish!

Definitely rocking a different colour for New Years. I'll probably end up painting my nails either tonight or tomorrow. Picture post on it soon!

Merry Christmas and FOTD!

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Dec 25, 2011 6:35PM | ♕ 0 Comments

Hi everybody! I hope you're all having a great Christmas and spending quality time with your loved ones during this holiday. As a tradition, we normally celebrate starting from Christmas eve and have a massive feast during that time and sleep late during Christmas day(ish).

I didn't go all out with my make up as I opted for a casual look this year. I was planning to do a "get ready with me" video for my Christmas eve look but I was out late on Christmas eve doing some last minute shopping with my parents. I'll probably do one for New Year's eve though. Anyway, this is the make up look that I wore last night.

Products used:

Eyes;

  • MAC painterly paintpot
  • NYX jumbo pencil in bronze
  • Sleek au naturel palette (nougat e/s as highlight, toast e/s as blending colour, mineral earth e/s & conker as crease/ outer V colour and taupe e/s as lid colour)
  • Make Up Academy (MUA) eyeliner pen
  • Daniel Alexander mascara
  • Models own Lashed-Up Volumiser Mascara
  • Prestige total intensity eyeliner in black

Face;

  • Superdrug Vitamin E moisturiser
  • Sleek creme foundation in Bamboo
  • Stila illuminating concealer
  • MAC studio careblend pressed powder in medium dark
  • MAC solar riche bronzer

  • Nivea lip balm
  • Sleek true colour lipstick in cranberry

Eyebrows;

  • HD brows palette in foxy
  • ELF studio eyebrow treat & tame in medium
  • ELF studio eyebrow lifter and filler in light

So that's basically it for now. Until next time! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your holidays!

My skin care routine

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Dec 9, 2011 10:57PM | ♕ 0 Comments

(forgot to include it in the photo above)

So here it is, a highly requested video regarding my skin care. I honestly don't use that much skin care products on my face nor do I use high end products to take care of my skin. It was only around the beginning of this year that I started taking care of my skin again. I used to be obsessed with skin care before I started my YouTube channel then it slowly died down. I used to religiously do my skin care back then. I even have one of those facial steamers which I stopped using but I'll probably start using it again.

  • I have normal to combination skin.
  • I have dry patches around the sides of my nose and mouth. I get a little bit oily on my nose.
  • I've not really suffered from acne when I was younger (hopefully I won't) so I'm quite blessed.
  • Like I said in the video, I only really get pimples when I lack sleep and that pretty much happens during the holiday season as I'm probably on the computer til' late or up playing xbox with the boyfriend.
  • It also happens when I'm absolutely stressed with Uni work when I have deadlines creeping up.

I only do my skin care at night when I have make up. In the morning, I just wash my face with water. I don't really have a particular skin care regime that I follow. I don't always use these products everyday as I don't wear make up on a daily basis. When I don't wear make up I would just wash my face with water. Simple as that.

Products mentioned in the video:

  • Primark makeup wipes - These wipes are a bargain and works well in my opinion. It doesn't irritate my skin. It doesn't really get rid of all my make up but it helps. This is the only product I take with me on my travels. I don't really take any of my other cleansers with me.

  • Naked Body Care bare faced cheek softening face wash - This product removes absolutely ALL of my make up from my foundation to mascara and even down to my eyeliner! My face feels nice and refreshed whenever I use this as I know it got rid of all the grubby make up that I've had all day. This product didn't irritate my skin at all which is why I LOVE IT! It lasted me about 8 months and it's only £4.50 so quite a bargain.

  • Naked Body Care up tone girl gentle toner - I don't use it that often because of the smell. However, I use it on times when I need to remove the last traces of my make up. It is refreshing on the skin and also brightens up my complexion.

  • Johnsons face care gentle exfoliating wash - First off, the smell of this is LUSH! I use this twice a week all over my face as it gets rid of the dead skin cells and also concentrating more around my nose area as I do get some blackheads. I wouldn't say that it completely gets rid of it but it helps minimise it. I still like using pore strips (which I forgot to mention in the video) to get rid of my blackheads though.

  • Superdrug Vitamin E SPF 15 radiance moisture cream - I only use a moisturiser in the morning. At night, I would just go to sleep with no moisturiser at all as I don't like anything on my face when I go to sleep. This was actually a cheap buy from superdrug at £1.99. I was actually debating whether to get it or not because I was afraid that it would irritate my skin as I've not tried any of superdrug's own brand of skin care line before. I actually like this moisturiser as it does it's job in moisturising (obviously) but it doesn't make me oily like the simple moisturiser that I used to use. I like that it has some fine glitters in it but it's actually not noticeable on the face. I only ever noticed it when I dabbed a little bit of it on my hand. This kind of really want to make me try out the other products in superdrug's vitamin E range. One particular product that I would like to try out is their hot cloth cleanser. Anyone else tried that?

  • Soap and Glory daily smooth body butter - If you've tried any of soap and glory products then you probably know that their lotions and body butters smells absolutely divine! It moisturises my skin and leaves it feeling beautifully soft. The consistency is just perfect. Not too thick not too thin. My boyfriend can't stop smelling me because of this LOL!

  • Soap and Glory hand food - As usual, the smell of this is AMAZING. I have two of this that I use for work and the other one I store in my bag for when I'm out and about. It's a handy size to put in the pocket which I like as I always use it at work. Due to the nature of my work I always get dry and cracked hands so this is something that I whip out when my hands get dry. It's absolutely moisturising and replenishes my skin!

  • Eyes Lips Face (ELF) zit zapper - I forgot to mention this in the video but I also use this as part of my routine. I whip this out when I have a pimple and would dab this on it. It does help minimise my pimple(s) in a day but it doesn't completely gets rid of it in just a day. I usually find myself using this for 2-3 days straight until the pimple is completely gone.

Question : Have you tried the Superdrug Vitamin E skin care range? If so, which products have you tried?

What's in my bag and Updates!

♕ Posted By The Vanitydoll ~ Dec 2, 2011 8:12PM | ♕ 7 Comments

Hey everybody! It's been awhile since I last posted on here. I've been too busy at work to spare some time blogging and making videos. Ever since starting my placement I've been awfully tired after work and don't really get the chance to film any videos on my days off because I'm trying to recuperate. Anyway, I'll be finishing my final ever placement soon so hopefully I'll be able to film a lot of videos before Christmas. I'm currently on a 6 days off and I'm now on my 2nd day off so hopefully I'll have the energy to film some videos tomorrow. For now, here's a video I filmed a week ago and it's my "What's in my bag?" video which has been requested quite a lot. I'm hoping to film my hair care routine video tomorrow and some other things too.
